What We Use and Abuse

Equipment Overview

At Milktoast Productions, we leverage a streamlined suite of professional tools, both hardware and software, to craft high-quality multimedia content from concept to final render. Our workflow integrates industry-standard creative applications, each serving a distinct role in enhancing precision, creativity, and production value. Complementing our software is a lean yet powerful hardware setup designed for agility and adaptability, allowing us to maintain high visual fidelity whether we're working in-studio, on-location, or on the move.

Software

  • Final Cut Pro – As our primary video editing platform, Final Cut Pro provides a robust and intuitive interface, and is central to our post-production workflow.

  • Logic Pro - Logic Pro is our primary DAW for music production, sound design, and mastering. We use it primarily as a post-production and mastering tool

  • Affinity Designer – Designer is our favorite graphic design and editing software. It is a one-time purchase license and it can open Adobe files natively for processing.

  • Affinity Photo – Photo is a very good photo editing software. We use it as a replacement for Adobe Photoshop. It is easy to use in comparison and allows us full flexibility with graphics.

  • Apple Motion – At Milktoast, we are up for anything. We use Motion to animate graphics for video and movies. It works great with Final Cut Pro natively and allows us to switch back and forth.

  • Unreal Engine 5 - We are experimenting with using game engines to create interactive content for our projects. Unreal Engine is a new tool that we have recently added ot our toolbox

  • Unity Hub 6 - Another new tech we are playing with here at Milktoast, whether for standalone projects or as extensions of our multimedia productions.

  • GoPro Cameras & Accessories – GoPros are essential to our toolkit for capturing dynamic, they are compact and rugged. We also have a wide range of accessories and mounts

  • iPhone – We incorporate the latest iPhone models into our workflow to leverage their powerful mobile camera systems. They are a versatile asset in both pre-production and post.

  • Motion Lenses – To push mobile cinematography even further, we equip our iPhones with high-quality lens attachments including wide-angle, telephoto, macro, and anamorphic.

  • Tascam Audio Mixers – To get the clearest sound from our on-set video sources, we use the Tascam 60DM for live sound recording. It also allows for multiple microphones

  • Focusrite Audio Interfaces – These audio interfaces have amazing analog to digital convertors and allows us to record crystal clear audio from a ton of different sources.

  • Presonus Controllers - We use the Presonus automation studio controllers for the haptic feedback and the ability to fine tune mixes in Reaper or Logic Pro.

Studio Equipment

At Milktoast Productions, we believe that sound begins with the tools that shape it. Every tone, texture, and atmosphere we create starts with a foundation of carefully chosen gear — instruments and equipment that inspire as much as they perform. From vintage analog tones to cutting-edge digital precision, our studio is built to capture the full emotional weight of our music. Whether we’re tracking bone-crushing riffs, sculpting haunting ambient layers, or experimenting with new sonic territory, our collection of professional instruments and accessories makes it all possible.
